My character goals

I wrote these paragraphs because I wanted to set character goals for this semester.
My first goal is making my friendship more broad. It is very hard for me since I only talk and show my mind to people who are really close and same with me. So I spent hard time when I first went to middle school because I had to make many new friends. Therefore, I will go and talk to others instead of just waiting for others to come and talk to me.
The second goal is that I want to cooperate with others. As I mentioned above, I am not active in meeting and getting close with other people. In addition, I don’t prefer group works because I can give harm to them when I do something wrong. Therefore I just avoided cooperating, but I want to try cooperating with others this semester. As a method, I got into the HS drama class. I can learn the way to cooperate with others during preparing the play.
‘If you build it, they will come’ (Field of dreams. Dir. Phil Robinson. Perf. Kevin Costner, Amy Madigan. film. 1989.). It looks hard since the character of one person does not change abruptly. However, I have a strong belief that my character will change someday if I don’t give up and try hard to achieve goals.

Goal #1. My goal is to use strategies to address writing to different audiences.

Method #1. I didn’t care about the different audiences before. Therefore, I want to learn how to write differently when you have different audiences. I will write several writings which are aiming different audiences in both school and everyday life.

Goal #2. I will work hard to use precise and descriptive language that clarifies and enhances idea and supports different purposes.

Method #2. I think that my language is sometimes very vague and I can’t express my opinion well. So I will work hard on learning and using a descriptive and precise language and words.

Goal #3. My goal is using conventions of punctuation in written compositions.

Method #3. I will study hard in the class and review the hand-outs so I can use the punctuations in everyday writing. Also, I will memorize the important ones.

Goal #4. I will use a variety of criteria to evaluate the validity and reliability of primary and secondary source information.

Method #4. I am going to work hard when I am doing research for papers. I will also get help from others. For example, I will evaluate the information with friends and see if several people’s opinion is same or not.

Goal #5. I will work on “word choice”, which takes 10 percent weight.

Method #5. Often I heard the opinion that I write the paper with easy words. So I want to learn and work on paraphrasing the words. I will look for the dictionary when I use same easy words too much.
